The PC Financial Mastercard charges a foreign transaction fee on all purchases made in non-Canadian currencies, whether traveling or shopping online with an international merchant in 2025.

Let’s have a look at below:
PC Financial Mastercard Foreign Transaction Fees for 2025
- When a transaction in a foreign currency is posted to your Mastercard account, you will be charged a Foreign Currency Conversion Markup (“foreign transaction fee”), calculated as a percentage of the transaction amount.
- This percentage is disclosed in your cardholder Disclosure Summary and incorporated directly into the conversion rate for your statement.
- The fee applies to purchases and cash advances, and is deducted from refunds or credits.
- The total cost you see on your statement includes the Mastercard exchange rate plus the Foreign Currency Conversion Markup.
Summary: The PC Financial Mastercard continues to charge a foreign currency conversion fee in 2025 for all transactions posted in non-Canadian currency.

Important Distinction: PC Money Account (Not Credit Card)
- PC Money™ Account: Starting February 6, 2025, there is no foreign currency conversion markup on any transactions made in foreign currencies. This includes purchases, refunds, and ATM withdrawals (other ATM/operator fees may still apply).
- To avoid extra charges, ensure the merchant charges you directly in the foreign currency, not in CAD via a third-party conversion.
Summary: If you use the PC Money Account (the debit product), you will not be charged a foreign currency conversion fee after Feb 6, 2025, the PC Mastercard credit card is not part of this change.
